harper

Rust agent runtime with a TUI, an HTTP API, and a sandbox.

RustCLIStableMITRepository ↗

Overview

A Rust agent runtime that coordinates model calls, tool execution, sandboxing, and multi turn reasoning, running as a terminal interface, an HTTP API, or an embedded service. Needs Rust 1.85 or newer with macOS or Linux, and process isolation relies on bwrap or sandbox-exec.

Architecture

harper splits work into three layers: a planner that turns goals into concrete jobs, a sandboxed executor that runs each job isolated from the host, and a result pipeline that signs and records everything it did. A TUI and an HTTP API sit on top as two interchangeable front ends over the same core.

Capabilities

  • Turn a plain-language goal into a concrete plan of jobs
  • Execute jobs in a sandbox without host access
  • Pause and wait for explicit approval before irreversible steps
  • Sign and store audited results for every run

Installation

cargo install --git https://github.com/coccinella-labs/harper

Run harper in a terminal for an interactive session, or start the HTTP API and drive it from another tool.
